WEB VIDEO
Camera 13
The duration of your video. We believe the shorter the better. Rather have more than one clip, than having a big chunky video. Visitors to your web page have the tendency to rather watch something less time consuming. Once they like what they see, they probably click on the next clip.

(Your web people can analyze this behaviour. Who is watching, where are they coming from? Are they watching the second clip. They can harvest the data, as they call it). Remember the screen size. Don’t expect people to be able to read little captions, or see all the detail you expect them to consume whilst sitting in front of their home theatre system.

We believe that Video for Internet has to be treated differently to audiovisual products for television.
This Conference video was produced in quick turnaround time for Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. The German Political foundation has contracted camera13 repeatedly to produce multimedia content for the Internet.
The above showcased clip was filmed in HD for RDB Consulting for event HD projection, produced in Blue Ray and Standard Definition DVD for clients and participants. The uploaded version for Internet was downscaled and web optimised.

The moving tv image is of an interlaced nature. Although there is no harm in putting this up on to monitors for flickering internet visuals, it looks better when it has been filmed, edited progressively.

The same applies to moving images for Projection and Film. Good thing is, that it doesn’t cost more – it just looks nicer. Although Video Clips on the Internet don’t necessarily have a high resolution, we like to film HD for Internet Clips for two reasons: It looks better even when it has been downscaled and secondly, it wont take 100 years for the Internet to play 99% of the material in HD anyway.

TV-folks here often refer to “prolonging the shelf time of your audiovisual”.

Feel free to contact us to discuss what type of video might work for you.
